World Wine 2005 Vina Alarba Old Vines Grenache

Calatayud, Spain Vina Alarba Old Vines Grenache is an incredible value in big red wine from the Calatayud appellation within the Aragon region of northeast Spain. It is a beautiful expression of the Grenache varietal, drawn from vineyards over 50 years old. The vineyards high elevation (2500 ft) and dry climate create perfect conditions for producing a wine of considerable depth and finesse. Imported by Jorge Ordoñez, this Spanish red was given a 90-point rating for the 2004 vintage by Robert Parker, calling it "a ridiculously priced bargain...almost too good to be true."
