World Wine 2004 Painter Bridge Chardonnay

California Painter Bridge Chardonnay is a bright new discovery from California. This wine is a blend of 90% Chardonnay, 7% Muscat Canelli, and 2% Viognier. The Chardonnay grapes are grown in the cool and windswept environs of Monterey County. Roughly half comes from the Arroyo Seco appellation of Monterey, and the other half from the Monterey County appellation around King City, both with beautiful aromatics and great texture. The Chardonnay is fermented in stainless steel to enhance pure fruit expression with a French yeast from the Sauternes region to enhance fruit and floral notes. The Muscat Canelli and Viognier are from the Lake County appellation. Both are fermented cold in stainless steel and are blended to enhance the enticing floral character of the Painter Bridge Chardonnay. The wine is aged and racked into stainless steel, cold stabilized, fined, and sterile-filtered to bottle.
