World Wine 2004 LVDH Sancerre

Loire, France LVDH Sancerre is the perfect white wine for your spring/summer dinner parties. This food-friendly wine, 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire region of France, comes from grapes picked from some of the oldest vineyards of Sancerre. The Brochard family have been making wine since the 16th century in the village of Chavignol, just west of Sancerre. Today Daniel, Jean-François & Benoit Brochard own some 50 hectares of vineyards and continue the family tradition in making outstanding wine. LVDH Sancerre is a soft yellow-green in color with crisp acidity. Light/medium in body, it offers an aromatic nose of grapefruit, lime, spice and mineral notes. Dry with no tannins and no oak, it offers fresh flavors of citrus, honey, spice, minerals and herbal teas. The wine has beautifully balanced fruit and acidity.
