Barossa Valley, Australia 93 POINTS ROBERT PARKER !! Kaesler Stonehorse Shiraz is a big Aussie red. The Kaesler Vineyards were established in 1893. The family, sprung from Silesian pioneers who came to the Barossa Valley in the 1840s, took up 96 acres in 1891. Robert Parker just rated this wine 93 points. Kaesler Stonehorse Shiraz is inky plum red in color with a nose of plums, blueberry, blackberry, vanillin oak and spice. Full-bodied with firm tannins, this red boasts big flavors of baked black fruits, blackberry, pepper, leather and earth. It has a hint of oak (French and American), with the fruit dominating. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, the wine is well balanced and cellarable through 2020. The finish is long with lean tannins.
