World Wine 2004 Anime Valpolicella

Veneto, Italy Anime Valpolicella is made by winemaker Leonardo Bugatti from grapes sourced from the Veneto region in northeast Italy. “Anime” means “souls” in Italian, hoping to capture the soul of a moment in good wine. This Valpolicella is a blend of 3 red grape varietals: Corvina, Molinara, and Rondinella. Anime Valpolicella is brick red in color with a nose of blackberries, candied fruit, cedar, leather, chocolate, and spice. Light-medium in body, soft and smooth with light tannins, this food-friendly red offers flavors of black raspberry, black fruits, cedar, coffee and spice, with no oak. Round and smooth on the finish, this wine can be enjoyed now and over the next 5-6 years. Anime Valpolicella is a great accompaniment to osso bucco, roast lamb, steak, lasagna, and hard cheeses.
