World Wine 2003 Starry Night Old Vine Zinfandel, Tom Feeney Ranch

Russian River Valley, California Starry Night Old Vine Zinfandel comes from three vineyards on Tom Feeney Ranch in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma with vines from the early 1900’s. 46% Piner Road Vineyard, 32% Montafi Vineyard, and 22% Barbieri Vineyard. These vines are dry farmed and produce a very limited crop. Only 610 cases produced. Starry Night Old Vine Zinfandel, Tom Feeney Ranch is deep ruby red in color with a spicy nose of raspberry, cherry, cassis, anise, and white pepper. Full in body with moderate acidity and soft tannins, this old-vines Zin delivers rich and complex flavors of raspberry, cherry, cassis, vanilla and spice. Aged in American and French oak barrels, 78% new. It is beautifully balanced with a long, flavorful finish.
