Santa Clara Valley, California Sarah s Vineyard Proprietor Tim Slater and Winemaker Dave Heiber are dedicated to low-yield growing of Burgundian grape varietals, producing intense wines like this superb Estate Reserve Chardonnay. Only 380 cases produced. Sarah s Vineyard Estate Reserve Chardonnay is 100% Chardonnay from the estate vineyard. The wine is soft yellow-gold in color with an enticing nose of apple pastry, tangerine, vanilla and cinnamon. Medium-full in body with firm acidity and mild tannins, this Chardonnay serves up flavors of apple, pear, citrus, almond, and caramel with fine balance and purity of fruit. Two thirds of the wine was aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, 30% new, while the balance was stainless steel fermented. 100% went through malolactic fermentation, giving the wine its creamy texture and long, elegant finish.
