Chateau Lamy is a large family-owned estate of 420 acres located in the village of Lézignan-Corbières, near Carcassonne. The estate once belonged to the bishop of Narbonne, with vineyards planted in the 14th century. This old-vines red is a blend of 35% Carignan, 35% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 15% Mourvedre. Chateau Lamy Corbieres is ruby red in color with a beautiful nose of blackberries, cassis, pepper, violets, leather, and spice. This is a medium-bodied red ideal for summertime drinking. It is soft and smooth with velvety tannins and flavors of blackberries, cassis, pepper, violets, leather, and spice. Aged for 9 months partly in oak barrels. Food-friendly and well balanced, the wine is smooth and pleasing on the finish. Enjoy Chateau Lamy Corbieres over the next 5-6 years with veal chops, coq au vin, roast turkey, ratatouille, and cheeses.
