Ribera del Duero, Spain Bodegas Cachopa was founded in 1995 by E. Simon Garrido and this young winery is a rising star in Ribera del Duero, winner of numerous Bacchus and Premios Zarcillo awards. Cachopa Tinto Barrica is an outstanding value, made of 100% Tempranillo. Cachopa Tinto Barrica is deep cherry/violet in color with a nose of black cherry, black raspberry, licorice, vanilla and lilac. Medium-full in body with moderate acidity and lean tannins, this red offers rich flavors of black cherries, raspberries, spice and smoky oak. Aged in oak to add depth and complexity, it is beautifully balanced to enjoy now and over the next 7-8 years. The wine is long and velvety smooth on the finish.
