World Wine 2002 Vall Llach Embruix Priorat

Priorat, Spain Vall Llach is an undiscovered gem from the Priorat region of Spain. The vineyard is owned by popular Spanish singer Louis Llach, who is also a great wine lover. His high-altitude vineyards with 80-year-old vines produce some of the best wines we ve ever tasted. Embruix, the second label, is a blend of 50% Grenache, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and tiny quantities of Merlot, Syrah, and Carignan. While the Robert Parker ratings on this 2002 release are not yet out, rest assured they will be stellar for this much-heralded vintage. Parker scored the 2001 a 94! The 2002 vintage Vall Llach Embruix has received 89 points from both Steven Tanzer and Wine Spectator. Vall Llach Embruix Priorat is deep ruby/purple in color with a beautiful nose of cassis, blueberry, black raspberry, violet and spices. It is full-bodied with concentration of fruit--cassis, black raspberries, chocolate, vanilla and oak. Aged 12-14 months in French oak.
