World Wine 2002 Allora Tresca Cabernet Sauvignon

Napa Valley, California Allora Tresca Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful new red Bordeaux blend from the Napa Valley. "Tresca" is Italian for "intrigue." Allora Vineyards is a rising star in Napa, founded in 1999 by proprietors Terry & Nancy Klein. Tresca is a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 3% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot. This is a very small-production wine, not yet discovered by the major wine critics, that really caught the attention of our tasting panel. Allora Tresca Cabernet Sauvignon is deep ruby red with a nose of blackberries, cherries, cassis, chocolate and spice. Full-bodied with depth, complexity, focus, elegance and silkiness, this wine offers rich flavors of raspberry, blackberry, cherry, chocolate, and toasted nuts. It was aged 24 months in new French oak barrels. Beautifully balanced to enjoy now, it will reward cellaring for 15-20 years. It is silky and lush on the lingering finish.
