Lodi, California Starry Night Terra Alta Syrah was the standout at our September 2005 Tasting Panel. Starry Night Winery is a rising star in California focused on Zinfandel and Rhone blends. This single-vineyard bottling is a beautiful representative of the fine Syrahs grown in the Lodi appellation for over 100 years. Only 720 cases produced. Starry Night Terra Alta Syrah is dark ruby red in color with a gorgeous aromatic nose of cherries, plums, black pepper and a hint of lavender. It is full-bodied with bright acidity and soft tannins, offering bold flavors of blackberries, cherries, black pepper, vanilla, and spice. Aged in French and American oak barrels, this red is well balanced to enjoy now and over the next 7-8 years. The wine s finish is long and tantalizing.
