World Wine 2001 Ramirez de la Piscina Rioja

Rioja, Spain Ramirez de la Piscina Rioja Crianza is a delightful change of pace from the ubiquitous Cabs and Merlots on the market. If you haven t enjoyed a nice Spanish Tempranillo lately, this one was our tasting panelÂ’s favorite among Rioja reds. Ramirez de la Piscina Rioja Crianza is deep brick red in color, with a nose of raspberry, blackberry, mint, spice and earth. Medium in body with light tannins, it is dry with flavors of black cherry, raspberry, chocolate and vanilla oak. Having spent one year in American oak, the wine has surprising depth and concentration of fruit. Nicely balanced to enjoy now and over the next five years, this is a beautiful food wine with a long, velvety finish. Enjoy Ramirez de la Piscina Rioja Crianza with roast chicken, paella, grilled vegetables and cheeses.
