Piedmont, Italy Nervi Vigneto Molsino Gattinara is a beautiful expression of the noble Nebbiolo grape of Piedmont. This collectible wine was recently awarded the coveted Tre Bicchieri from Italy s Gambero Rosso. Nervi was founded in 1906 and owns the 24-acre Molsino vineyard in the Gattinara region of Piedmont. Mineral-rich soils at an elevation of 1000 ft make Molsino one of the best vineyards in Gattinara. Nervi Vigneto Molsino Gattinara is deep garnet-brick red with a nose of blackberries, cherries, smoke, cedar, violets and spice. The wine is full-bodied with firm tannins and moderate acidity, offering rich flavors of sweet, ripe berries, red fruits and chocolate. It was aged 4 years, 3 years in Slavonian oak casks. This big red possesses great depth and elegance. While it is well balanced to enjoy now, it will improve with cellaring for 12-15 years. The wine is long and smooth on the finish.
