Paarl, South Africa David Frost Wines began in 1994 with the purchase of a 300-acre wine estate at the foot of a mountain range in Paarl, South Africa. PGA Tour golfer David and his brother Michel dedicate each vintage to a golf legend, donating $1 per bottle to a chosen charity. This third release from the 2000 vintage is dedicated to Gene Sarazen, who follows Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer. The wine labels of these golfing greats were painted by world renowned artist Leroy Neiman. Support a great cause while you enjoy a great wine! David Frost Merlot Reserve is deep ruby red in color with a nose of plums, cherries, black currants, mocha, leather and smoky oak. It is full-bodied with moderate acidity, firm tannins and rich flavors of plums, cassis, cherries, anise, and coffee. The wine was aged in 100% French oak barrels, 40% new.
